Acting Vice President Sabrina Andrea Chavez stepped down from office on August 30, 2026, citing a desire to focus on her studies. Her resignation ends nearly six consecutive months in the Commonwealth's transitional vice presidency and leaves the office without an incumbent for the first time since it was established on March 1.
